About H Creative Services’ Director, Helen Scarr
Since I could read and write, I’ve been into words and their power. From specialising in Medieval literature in my English degree to starting out as a freelance travel writer while on a two-year round the world trip,
My biggest passion, alongside writing, is looking after the planet. I do my small bit towards preventing climate change by working on renewable energy projects – I’ve been helping deliver pre-application consultation services since 2016.
Alongside running the company day-to-day, I teach yoga and meditation classes at Calmer Soul Yoga. Helping people access the benefits of these ancient practices is why I trained as a teacher; seeing my students develop physically and spiritually is incredibly rewarding and beautiful.
Giving back is important to me. I’ve been volunteering for Parkinson’s UK’s East Midlands Research Interest Group for years now, supporting them by hosting invaluable events and sharing information on all things to do with research into Parkinson’s Disease (which I lost my father to in 2021).
When I have time off, I love spending time walking my dog in the countryside, travelling far and wide as much as possible, sharing a glass or two of wine with good friends or getting stuck into a good non-fiction book.
